REBECCA VARY LOWRY
Rebecca is a licensed interior design leader, focused on creating interiors that enhance spatial experience through thoughtful, functional, and inclusive design.
Rebecca received her high school diploma outside Cleveland at Notre Dame Cathedral Latin, and received her BFA with a focus on Industrial Design from Rhode Island School of Design in 1999. She is NCIQD Certified and an active member in the IIDA, Cleveland chapter.
Rebecca joined Case Western Reserve University in 2016 after working in design firms in New York City, Connecticut, and Chicago. As an interior designer at ground-up architecture firms her focus has been on educational projects. At Pelli Clarke & Partners in New Haven, CT she worked on the Bill and Melinda Gates computer science complex at UTAustin, Yale - NUS college in Singapore as well as the Cooperative arts and humanities high school in New Haven. While at SCB in Chicago she worked on the Ryan School of the Arts and Communications at Northwestern University and Wilkerson Dining Hall at the University of North Dakota.
Professional highlights also include production design at Saturday Night Live for NBC Studios and premier residential design in NYC. Her career has been filled with various interior projects including hospitality, corporate and residential design with a focus on space planning, construction document completion, finish and furniture specification, construction administration and on-site coordination.
In her spare time, Rebecca enjoys frequenting estate sales and one of her favorite buildings is the Beinecke Rare book library at Yale University. She and her husband T. Paul have two children, Emmett and Josephine.
Rebecca is the President of The Vary Foundation.
